Through the generosity of the community at large, faith-based organizations, and civic groups, the Family Assistance program coordinates emergency financial assistance to provide temporary relief for such basic needs as rent, food, utilities and healthcare. Occasionally, the funds may also be used to help families with other emergencies such as co-pays for prescriptions, overdue car insurance premiums, car repairs, and necessary furniture such as a bed for a child. Families from the Clifton Park community, and some outlying areas, contact CAPTAIN for assistance and are referred directly to our Family Assistance Coordinator who assesses the severity of their needs and helps identify the best possible means to resolve their situation. Families which are served through Family Assistance are often invited to participate in the Family Development program, especially if they are interested and motivated to take active steps to help improve their life situations.
